Coaching Opportunities

Volunteer Coaching Opportunity

Do you love the game of football? Do you enjoy spending time with children? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Then you should consider getting into coaching.

We still have some coaching opportunities available.

The role involves coaching the children in football at weekly practice and on matchdays which is either Saturdays and Sundays.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a volunteer you do not have to have a coaching qualification before you start, however you will be expected to work towards one in accordance with our Football Association Accreditation requirements. This would require the completing of three online courses 'Introduction to Coaching Football', a first aid course and a Safeguarding Children course. The courses will be paid for by the club.

You will need to be reliable, have good time keeping and above all, be enthusiastic in your role. Communication with children of any age group is also an important skill.

Some knowledge of football is important, but it is not necessary to have a high level of football knowledge. It is more important to be able to create a fun and safe environment for the children where they can develop their skills and enjoy the game. A successful volunteer will have good organisational skills.

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

You will need to be available on Sunday or Saturday mornings for matches and once a week in the evening (Tuesdays) for training.

The season runs from September until the following May. In fairness to the children, we require volunteers to commit to at least one season but preferably longer term.

The role requires a criminal record check (DBS), which needs to be completed before your volunteering can begin. This is paid for by Salisbury FC Youth.
